[edit] Basic Windows Shortcuts
- CTRL + C = Copy
- CTRL + V = Paste
- CTRL + X = Cut
- CTRL + Z = Undo
- CTRL + A = Select All
- CTRL + B = Bold
- CTRL + U = Underline
- CTRL + I = Italic
[edit] Windows Navigation Shortcuts
- TAB = Navigate Through Boxes
- SHIFT + TAB = Navigate Through Boxes (reverse)
- ALT + Tab = Switch Between Windows
- ALT + F4 = Close program
- ALT + ENTER = Display Properties for file/folder
- ALT + Underlined Letter = Select that Menu/Option
- CTRL + ESC = Open Start Menu
- CTRL + SHIFT + ESC = Open Task Manager
- CTRL + ALT + DEL = Brings Up Security Menu

- Windows Key + E = Launch Explorer
- Windows Key + D = Show Desktop (minimize all)
- Windows Key + D (Again) = Return Windows
- Windows Key + F = Search Dialog Box
- Windows Key + L = Lock Workstation
- Windows Key + R = Open ‘Run’ Box

- F1 = Help
- F2 = Rename
- F3 = Search
- F4 = Select Address Bar (IE and Windows Explorer)
- F5 = Refresh
- F6 = Cycles through selectable items in current window (Select address bar in FireFox)
- F10 = Select Menu Bar
- F11 = Fullscreen for most web browsers
[edit] Common Application Shortcuts
- CTRL + N = New Email/Document/etc
- CTRL + P = Print
- CTRL + S = Save
- CTRL + O = Open
- CTRL + TAB = Switch Between documents in same program
- CTRL + F4 = Close single document in current program
- CTRL + T = Open New Tab
- CTRL + Z = Undo change
- CTRL + Y = Redo change
- CTRL + HOME = Move to top (Holding Shift highlights to beginning)
- CTRL + END = Move to bottom (Holding Shift highlights to end)
- F2 = Rename file/folder
- F5 = Refresh/Reload for web browsers or for explorer folders
[edit] Mouse Shortcuts
- Single click = Highlights file
- Double click = Highlights word or opens file
- Triple click = Highlights paragraph
- Right click and Drag a file/folder = Opens menu to Copy/Move/Create Shortcut
- ALT + Double Click = Brings up Properties
- CTRL + Scroll Button = Zoom
- CTRL + Left Click = Select one or multiple files/folders*
- SHIFT + Left Click = Select range of files/folders*
- arrow keys and space bar also work
[edit] General Tip
- To remove formating from something you want to cut and paste into a document always have a copy of Notepad open. Copy the text into Notepad, then re-highlight and copy the text from Notepad to your application.
