Steps for accessing the admin VPN (for Windows XP):

1. Click the Start Menu then click settings then Control Panel.
2. In the control panel double click Internet Settings.
3. In the Internet Settings choose the Connections tab.

   

4. Click the Setup button in the connections tab.
5. Click Next.
6. Select the second option "Connect to the network atm my workplace". Click Next
7. Select the second option "Virtual Private Network Connection". Click Next
8. Company name "MTU". Click Next
9. Enter vpnserver.sas.it.mtu.edu for the host name. Click Next
10. Select the connection for "Anyone's use". Click Next
11. Check the box that says add shortcut to desktop then click Finish
12. Connect to the internet if you have't already done so.
13. On the Desktop find the shortcut for the VPN. It should be named "MTU". Once found double click to open it.
14. Fill in your Windows XP username and password then click Connect.
15. It may tell you your login has failed. In the domain box type ADMIN and click OK.
16. You should be securely logged on to the MTU network and can now Remote Desktop to your work pc through a secure connection.
