Printers:Ucomm printer accounting

University Communications has a big Xerox printer named Looseleaf down on ground floor that they do job accounting on. Mechelle Normand has a list of users and their 2 codes. You will need this info to set up job accounting.

  1. Be logged in as the user.
  2. If the printer was already installed, remove it.
  3. Execute \\cerebro\software\xerox\X-GPDWinXP03V_PS_English.exe as Local Admin
    1. Redirect the installer to C:\temp\Xerox\, if it pops up with "Add a Printer...", click cancel.
  1. As local admin:
    1. (Your going to be doing this twice: once for LOOSELEAFCLR and once for LOOSELEAFBW)
    2. Add a Printer
    3. Add a "Local Printer" UNcheck "Automagically detect and install..."
      1. Choose "Create a New Port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port"
      2. Use the IP Adress "141.219.38.242"
      3. Use the Port Name "LOOSELEAFCLR" for color and "LOOSELEAFBW" for black and white
      4. When it asks about the printer driver,Click "Have Disk" and point it to the driver extracted earlier (C:\temp\Xerox\X-GPD_Driver\x2UNIVP.inf)
    4. Set printer as default if they want it to be.
    5. Wait to finish.
    6. Check to see if it uses BW or Color by default, in printing preferences, and change it accordingly
  1. Go to LOOSELEAF__ Properties > Configuration > Accounting...
    1. Select "Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditron"
    2. Select "Use Default Accounting Codes"
    3. Under "Default Account Type:" Select Group Account
    4. This is where you type in the two codes you received from Mechelle Normand. Make sure that you type in ONLY the numbers, no letters.
    5. Click OK, OK.
  1. Go to LOOSELEAF__ Properties and change whether it prints in Color or Black and White respectively
    1. Try printing something, if it worked continue.
  1. Show them how to switch between Color and B&W printing, nothing special for that, you're done!
