[edit] Expectations and responsibilities of a SAS Liaison:

  1. Two or more years experience with all Microsoft Office Products.
  2. Provide support for departmental applications.(Banner, Eudora, Meeting Maker, Web Browsers, Adobe Products, MS Office, EC-Grant, Crystal Reports, SSH/SFTP, etc.)
  3. Diagnose hardware and software problems.
  4. Provide detailed information on all file restoration such as “userid”, file location, and date.
    (eg. “bmkendzi” P:\user\documentation\HR dept, the entire folder needs to be restored from MM-DD-YY)
  5. Provide SAS information on department specific software. (eg. ZIPFinder, Ed-connect, SPSS, PIN etc.)
  6. Provide basic desktop assistance for:
    • adding printers
    • monitor setup
    • virus scanning
    • home drive quota
    • file deletion
    • passwords, etc.
  7. Train users on the use of applications.
  8. Attend SAS liaison meetings and distribute information back to their department.
