SAS liaison job description

Job Duties and Recommended Experience of a SAS Liaison:

Essential Job Duties

  1. Understand campus policies and procedures as they apply to computing in their departments.
  2. Test new applications before deployment with SAS.
  3. Managing departmental staff/student accounts list, register new accounts, deactivation of old accounts.
  4. Forwarding notices from SAS staff to departmental personnel.
  5. Attending liaison meetings.
  6. Attending training sessions.
  7. Point of contact in their departments for application problems or trouble requests.
  8. Maintaining lists of software licenses that are department specific.
  9. Maintaining lists of departmental hardware(Computers, Printers, Etc).
  10. Working with SAS to plan and schedule hardware/software purchases.
  11. Working with new users to orient them to computing in their department.

Experience Recommended

  1. Communicating and training users on basic software applications.
  2. Determine hardware/software needs
  3. Experience in Microsoft Office suite and associated departmental applications.
  4. Experience with PC Hardware troubleshooting
  5. Good phone and email communication skills for keeping track of support requests and communicating needs with SAS support staff.
